Rajasthan, (our favorite of the Golden Triangle) is a region in Northern India that is steeped in a rich culture of royalty, tradition, and the arts. It's also famous for its textiles and for using indigo and vegetables in traditional dyeing processes, and making use of onions and rice pulp in weaving.
You can choose to do a walking tour of the Old City with its street food and flowers and bazaar or, you can choose to get lost for the day (which is always fun) and take a day of wandering wherever your fancy takes you. You’ll need to add - buy an extra suitcase to your list of things to do.
HERE’S OUR ROUND-UP LET’S GO!
WHERE TO STAY
Narain Niwas Palace
If you're looking for a modern luxury experience, you can check into the Rambagh Palace. However, our preference would be to stay at Narain Niwas Palace, for its old-world magical charm of yesteryear. Hallways, walls, and rooms are the colors of Fabergé Eggs.
NO REAL PALACE WOULD BE WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD WITHOUT A MAGNIFICENT PEACOCK ROAMING ITS COURTYARDS THIS ONE HAS SEVERAL!
BAR PALLADIO, BY DUTCH DESIGNER MARIE-ANNE OUDEJANS, IS THE CHERRY ON THE TOP AND THE PLACE TO WET YOUR WHISTLE.
FLORAL MURALS AND WHITE STENCILING ON EDGEWARE BLUE SEDUCE FROM THE MOMENT YOU ENTER.
Booth seating, elegant bird murals and tent-like treatments on ceilings, gilt hanging light fixtures and color, color, color everywhere! this place is a must.
