NO, NOT THE BAND YOU!
What do your mornings look like? Are they sluggish affairs with a feeling that you have barely slept? Are they quiet mornings, that are not so quiet at all, with your mind running riot retelling you your to-do list for the day ahead, or playing out the various scenarios that you may need to navigate based on the actions or inactions of people you will need to interact with?
IF THIS SOUNDS LIKE YOUR MORNINGS, THEN YOU HAVE A SERIOUS CASE OF THE FOGS.
WHAT IS THE FOGS? Well, it’s the uncontrollable urge upon waking to start running through your to-do list, setting up your play strategies based around things, or people’s actions you have no control of and a general feeling of ‘Ugh, how am I going to get this done!’ Well Let’s shake all that off! Memorial Day marked the unofficial beginning of summer and summer is a time of light! Here are two simple steps to help you start your day FOGS free.
Keep bringing your good to the relationship for as long as you can, your actions are the only things you can control.
1) We all have lists of sorts; make yours the night before in the order of priority. Go to bed knowing that you’ve got it covered and wake up without that pesky list stealing your morning.
2) Have a tricky situation with a friend or a co-worker who is making you see red? Stop being reactive to their actions and start being proactive. Take some time (a day or two) to really think about what you are bringing to the table, both good and bad. Speak truth to yourself and acknowledge the bad and most importantly resolve to knock it off! (after all, they may be reacting to the negativity you are bringing). Keep bringing your good to the relationship for as long as you can, your actions are the only things you can control. Still toxic? Then figure out an exit strategy that will cause as little impact to you or the person concerned.
Your all set!
Good morning sunshine! Clap your hands, say YEAH! You got this.
